Susanna Hoffs, born on January 17, 1959, in Los Angeles, California, is an American singer, songwriter, and guitarist. She co-founded the Bangles in 1981 with Debbi and Vicki Peterson. The band's debut album, All Over the Place (1984), received critical acclaim but didn't achieve commercial success. However, their second album, Different Light (1986), catapulted them to fame with hits like "Manic Monday" and "Walk Like an Egyptian".
The Bangles' third album, Everything (1988), featured the chart-topping single "Eternal Flame". Despite their success, internal tensions led to the band's breakup in 1989. Hoffs then pursued a solo career, releasing her debut solo album, When You're a Boy, in 1991.
Her distinctive voice and contributions to the Bangles' success made her a prominent figure in the 1980s music scene.
