The Mandragora plant, commonly known as "Mandrake", is actually a real plant. It has a very rich history though, that had it used in rituals, witchcraft, seen as demons, and it evolved into it's own mythical creature. Most people have probably recognized it from the Harry Potter movies.
This root monster has a very customizable base. I'd recommend experimenting with different vegetables/fruits on lower strengths to create your own little plant creature.
Also try using different plants and flowers for their "hair".
