Susie Dent is a British lexicographer, etymologist, and broadcaster. She is best known for her work on the British television show "Countdown," where she has been the resident dictionary expert since 1992. On the show, Dent provides explanations of the origins and meanings of words, known as "Dictionary Corner." She is highly regarded for her extensive knowledge of the English language and her ability to share interesting linguistic facts and trivia.
